I write about people who at the time of Caesar designed and built works destined to last.

They are not emperors or warriors, but architects, topographers and land surveyors, sometimes brilliant and often skilled in getting into trouble.

Over time, the series “Quintilius, Life between the Roman Republic and Empire,” already fairly well known, was joined by new characters who, in the first century, live in the undergrowth of officers, merchants and intermediaries around the imperial administration of the provinces.

“One thing I learned: the reality of the story always surpasses the imagination of any writer, and sometimes, it is difficult to give an idea of it in a novel.”
